Saskia van der Velden started her career at ING almost eleven years ago. She held various international generalist positions within Human Resources in ING, with a very broad client base. She can be characterized as an energetic and experienced HR Director who drives for results with a strong end customer mindset in complex environments. She has a passion for people & organisational development, specifically HR development and change management. Next to managing international HR teams, she has been involved in significant business and HR projects , such as the design of a new Performance & Reward approach and system for 30,000 employees which was a combined project of Business leaders, Human Resources, Works council and Labour Unions. The result was a new Performance Management approach with on the one hand a strong focus on achieving results and on the other hand focus on development of employees to anticipate on the ever changing environment we operate in. A new rating scale, system and reward structure were introduced and embedded in the approach.

Currently Saskia is the Regional Director of HR for ING Insurance Central Europe. rnIn this part of the ING organisation an ambitious and complex change programme called 'Vision for Growth' is running. ING aims to be the Number One provider of Pension and Life Insurance in Central and Eastern Europe. The success of this change program is also dependent on the change capacity of the organisation and of the people. Saskia manages a team that is responsible for supporting this change from the business perspective (the people side of change) as well as the necessary HR transformation to align the HR organisation whithin the new strategy. The HR transformation focuses on the steamlining of HR processes and systems on a regional level, moving from different country approaches, cultures, processes and systems to one common performance culture, one overarching approach and one system. To be able to achieve this, Centers of Excellence of Performance Management and Leadership & Talent Management are being implemented. Saskia and her international HR team also steer the people & change transformation by the shaping of a one common performance culture and values.
