Former Managing Director - Group HR, Head Leadership Performance & Talent. After completing a degree in Commerce at the University of Western Australia Paul worked for a short period of time in accounting and computing organizations before joining Shell Australia in 1979. Up until 1998 Paul worked in Shell Australia’s Oil Products business in a large range of roles across most parts of the Retail and Commercial businesses.

In 1999 he took a career shift and joined the LEAP Team, an internal change and consulting group, based in The Netherlands. Paul worked as a change agent delivering business improvement and leadership development programs across Shell Group and in addition was part of LEAP’s management team with specific responsibility for people issues.

At the beginning of 2003, he joined ABB in Switzerland within the HR organization. As one of the two HR Group Function heads his role was to drive key elements of the Group’s People Strategy, specifically for Business Excellence dealing with change management and employee learning; Talent Management from attraction, through retention to employee development and the HR Infrastructure for the ABB Group Headquarters. In addition he lead the HR stream of ABB’s global systems infrastructure project.

In November 2007 he joined UBS at their corporate headquarters in Zürich where he took on the joint roles of heading the UBS Leadership Institute and leading the strategic development of Talent Management for the Group. During 2008 he led the Group Executive Board project titled Leadership 2012. This project is developing the new leadership and management development curriculums and talent management architecture for the group.

Paul and his wife Helen live in Switzerland. Outside of work, interests include cycling, skiing, traveling and reading.
