Claus HaarGroup Vice President for Human Resources

Claus Haar joined Borealis as Vice President for Human Resources, in February 2008. With over 25 years experience in the Human Resources field, Claus spent his early career in South Africa with a number of companies including Ciba-Geigy until 1996 when he was transferred to the Ciba Specialty Chemicals head office, Switzerland to fulfil a global HR role. In 2002 Claus was transferred to Singapore, Asia-Pacific as Regional HR Head and towards end 2005 joined the Austrian company Lenzing AG as their Asian Human Resources Director based in Hong Kong. Claus has Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa, as well as a certificate in Strategic Human Resources Management from the Harvard Business School. Borealis AG is Europe's second largest producer of plastics and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Borealis AG is an international company in producing polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) solutions for the infrastructure, automotive and advanced packaging market sectors. Its plastics are converted by customers into products such as food packaging, medical devices, diapers, energy and communication cables, water and sanitation distribution pipes and automotive parts. The company’s strategy is Value Creation through Innovation and its values are Responsibility, Respect, Exceed and Nimblicity, a term that is purported to be a fusion of nimbleness, simplicity and flexibility. |
